Drone survey dates are subject to permissions and Local Authority by-laws and clearances.
Confirmed drone survey dates are also subject to suitable weather conditions. Our Drones (UAS) can only fly in dry and calm conditions.
Our CAA operational authorisation is awarded on the basis of flight safety aspects. It does not give us the authority to disregard any aspects that are of interest to statutory bodies like Police and Emergency Services, the Highway Agency and Local Authorities.
Many areas are marked as regulated high-risk areas and the operation of your drone may be hazardous or prohibited. We do a check and if it is in that zone, we may have to take clearance from NATS and other relevant authorities. Please note we cannot take jobs that may need road closure for the operation.
The collision avoidance requirements for SUAS (Drone) are followed at all times as per guidance provided in CAP 722. A Visual Line of Sight (VLOS) should be maintained at all times during the flight and the drone has to be visible at all times with the naked eye during the entire operation.
Risk assessment is a process where the drone operator has to decide the safety concerns of both involved and uninvolved people/animals/vessels/vehicles and structures. We cannot fly closer to 50meters to any crowd/property/vehicles and structures that are not in our control. The aim is to always be aware that the flight operation should not be a danger and the drone remote pilot will be the judge of that and may deny flying in a certain path if that is considered unsafe according to him/her. PRE-DEFINED RISK ASSESSMENT – UKPDRA01
The Remote Pilot retains full discretion to postpone, alter, suspend, or cancel any flight operation where weather conditions, equipment performance, site circumstances, airspace restrictions, or safety considerations present an unacceptable risk.
The client shall not instruct, pressure, or require the pilot to undertake any activity that the pilot reasonably considers unsafe, unlawful, or contrary to applicable Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) regulations, operational authorisations, or industry best practices.
Where a flight is delayed, rescheduled, or terminated due to safety concerns, the pilot and operator shall not be held responsible for any resulting project delays, additional costs, missed deadlines, or associated losses incurred by the client.
